Students to benefit from royal fund

THE future looks bright for students who are counting on the Modjadji Royal Bursary Trust Fund to pursue studies in higher education institutions.

This was after the trust received a R50000 donation from cement company AfriSam at the royal palace in Khehlakoni, outside Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo, yesterday.

The R50000 cheque was handed over to Modjadji and MEC for education, Namane Masemola, by AfriSam regional sales manager, Martin Selepe.

The trust fund was introduced by the regent, Prince Mpapatla Modjadji, early last year after realising that many matriculants had nowhere to go after passing their examinations because of financial difficulties.

Modjadji contributed R110000 to the trust at the official launch last year.

Ten students have already benefited from the trust fund's bursaries and are studying in various disciplines at the universities of Limpopo, Venda and others.
