THE continuing reports of rampant corruption within government departments have pushed the cabinet to take another step to fight the scourge.

Yesterday cabinet announced the setting up of an inter-ministerial task team to take "extraordinary steps" against corrupt officials.

Spokesperson Themba Maseko yesterday said government had realised that many reports into corruption "end up just being tabled with no evidence of concrete action being taken".
