KILLARNEY Country Club in Johannesburg has invited business to take part in the 80s Networking Tool golf tournament on Friday, with tee-off at 11.30am.

Patrick Pheeloane, one of the organisers, said they had decided to make it an annual event after last year's inaugural event was a resounding success.

"We are using the tournament as a networking session for South Africans who are all involved in business, hoping some brilliant business ventures will be born at the event," he said. "I chose the 80s because that's when I quit professional soccer to get involved in business."

The former Wits and Bluebells United player, who also featured for the now defunct Mmabatho Kicks in the old Bopsol league, said there were still a few four-ball spaces available at R350 per four-ball, which includes the prizegiving dinner and a round of networking.

"It has the potential to become one of the biggest sporting events in Gauteng."
