NEW Boland Cavaliers coach Eugene "Loffie" Eloff is determined to get the rugby team back into the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division in the 2011 season.

The Western Cape side will campaign in the First Division next season and the former Golden Lions mentor admitted it would require intense commitment and hard work to get back to the top flight .

"We need to work tirelessly both at training and during the matches to attain our goal. Nothing is impossible if we are dedicated to what we are doing," Eloff told Sowetan yesterday.

He said Cavaliers would also need to reinforce their talent-development drive to identify more players who will add value to the club.

Eloff's appointment followed the sacking of former Springbok Chester Williams, who was unable to save the side from relegation.

Cavaliers chief executive Piet Bergh confirmed Eloff had signed a three-year deal.

"We are very satisfied to have a coach of Eloff's stature, who is respected and knowledgeable. We strongly believe he is the right person to take the team back to the Premier Division next season," said an elated Bergh.
