ANC regions elect leaders

THREE sub-regions in Limpopo - Tzaneen, Letaba and Giyani - elected their chairpersons at the weekend to lead them in the ANC for the next two years.

THREE sub-regions in Limpopo - Tzaneen, Letaba and Giyani - elected their chairpersons at the weekend to lead them in the ANC for the next two years.

The sub-regions held their elective conferences on Saturday and Sunday, with about 300 delegates competing for the top five positions of the ANC in their towns.

The Mark Shope sub-region, which is the biggest and richest in the province after Polokwane, elected Napoleon Mboweni as chairperson.

In Letaba, delegates elected the articulate Corporal Masutha as chairperson unopposed.

In Giyani, the speaker of the Giyani municipality Zox Mabunda was elected chairperson, while Ernest Mboweni won the position of deputy chairperson. - Alex Matlala
