She said they were abusing their powers over pupils.
She said that the teachers were also setting a bad example since schools were struggling with the problem of teenage pregnancies.
Cope's spokesperson Phillip Dexter agrees.
"They must be fired and charged criminally," he said.
He also suggested that the Department of Education should mobilise massive education programmes to educate and empower pupils.
In Limpopo MEC for education Namane Masemola will address parents, teachers and the community over teenage pregnancies in Bolobedu tomorrow.
Sowetan reported last Friday that two Grade 6 and 7 pupils had been made pregnant by their teachers.
The children are from a primary school in Tzaneen.
Sowetan also revealed that 78 teachers were fired last year for making pregnant or having sexual relations with pupils.
The South African School Governing Body in Limpopo has also accused teachers in Phalaborwa and Bochum of impregnating nine pupils between January and October this year.
Masemola's spokesperson Cebile Khanye yesterday said the MEC would try to forge a good working relationship between schools and owners of taverns operating near the schools.
Khanye said "some parents feared that certain taverns harboured druglords who sold drugs to the children".
She said the department believed that taverns near schools should only operate after learning hours and must have age restrictions.
"We want to use this opportunity of the imbizo to also educate parents and the community that it is wrong for teachers to fall in love with their pupils.
"It is a serious offence tantamount to rape and whoever is found practising it will face the music," she said.
Masemola will hold another meeting on Wednesday at Kromhoek GaMakgatho in the Peter Mokaba region and then move to the Masisi sports ground in Mutale in the Vhembe region on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Young Communist League's Gugu Ndima said yesterday abusive teachers should face the full wrath of the law.
Ndima described the teachers who have sex with pupils as "scum of the nation" who crippled the future of South Africa and send out the wrong message about education.
"We call on the department of education to also encourage victims to come forward and name and shame these perverse vultures in our schools.
"Every child has the right to an education and that will not be compromised by teachers that have no sense of respect for children and the law," she said.
