ANC Free State spokesperson Teboho Sikisi, 38, has died in a car crash outside Bloemfontein, police said yesterday.

ANC Free State spokesperson Teboho Sikisi, 38, has died in a car crash outside Bloemfontein, police said yesterday.

Johnson Mdali, 39, also died when their BMW veered out of control and overturned about 40km outside Bloemfontein on Saturday night, said Captain Rulene Kuhn.

A woman travelling with them, Christine Mdhlane, 25, survived and was admitted to hospital in Bloemfontein.

"The tragic death has robbed the ANC of one of its dedicated and committed cadres who also served as a member of the Free State provincial executive committee," ANC national spokesperson Brian Sokutu said.

"Comrade Sikisi dedicated most of his life to the fight for a democratic, nonracial and nonsexist society in South Africa," he said.

"We send our deep condolences to his family and that of the other man who died in the accident." - Sapa
