"Bester allegedly managed to misappropriate R1 475 023 by transferring money that was due to service providers to his personal bank account," the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said.
Bester, of Pretoria, is out on bail of R5000.
He was arrested on Thursday and pleaded guilty in the specialised commercial crimes court to 820 counts of fraud. He will be sentenced on March 5.
On Monday, the high court in Pretoria granted the asset forfeiture unit a restraint order against Bester.
