SINGER Kelly Khumalo will be partying up a storm this summer, what with her association with one of the world's biggest car brands and the countless "kasi style" parties lined up.

Chevrolet and Metro FM have teamed up and are hosting parties through the Cruze eKasi summer entertainment national tour.

The parties will be held at 12 tshisa nyama venues, and the first will be in Midrand on Sunday.

Khumalo, who celebrated her birthday yesterday, said she was looking forward to "being driven in the coolest cars" and performing with other artists at the Midrand event.

"Being associated with such a brand is a blessing. I regard the Chevrolet brand owners, General Motors, as family," Khumalo said.

She said nothing big was planned on her actual birthday, but she will be throwing a "big party" tomorrow in Rivonia.

"The party theme is One Ticket to Hell," she said.

Chevrolet marketing manager Brian Olson said Khumalo and other artists such as Stone, Speedy, Jub Jub and television presenter Nonhle Thema have "an association" with the car brand.

"With the Cruzing eKasi tour we want to capture the public's attention through a different avenue.

"The tshisa nyama is a big part of township culture in South Africa. Here you will find socialites from all walks of life, covering a broad spectrum of income and social status, hanging out and simply enjoying being South African.

"The celebrities are not paid anything we provide the cars for video shoots and when they go to events," Olson said.

Revellers can look forward to live music from some of the best DJs including Glen Lewis, Naked DJ, DJ Nutty and Fistaz Mixwell.

A brand new Chevrolet Cruze is up for grabs during the tour.
