NOW that it's summer you will need to pack sunscreen in your bag wherever you go.

It is important to know your skin type. Use a sun protection factor (SPF) suitable for your skin.

If you burn easily use a SPF of 30 or above. An SPF of 30 means that you are protected for 30 times longer than your skin could endure in full sun on its own.

When you are going to be exposed to the sun between 11am and 3pm always use sunscreen. If you get into water reapply sunscreen.

Though you are wearing sunscreen, minimise sun exposure as well and always wear protective clothes like hats and sunglasses and you can also use an umbrella.

Sunscreen also helps prevent skin cancer. Having a dark skin does not mean you don't have to use sunscreen.

Apply sunscreen generously to behind and on top of your knees, your feet and toes, around your under arms, your face, head and scalp and in fact any exposed areas.
