This was evident when disgruntled influential administrators around the world met in Dessau, Germany, two weeks ago to form a new world boxing organisation.
This was just before Francois "White Buffalo" Botha's defence of the World Boxing Foundation heavyweight title against Cuban Pedro Carrion.
They felt Mick Croucher, president of the World Boxing Foundation, was unable to take the sanctioning body to a higher level.
They then formed the World Boxing Federation. South Africa's vastly experienced referee and judge Howard Goldberg was appointed president of the newly established sanctioning body.
The vice-presidents are Ron Scalf from the US and Italian Matteo Fratini.
Goldberg was the World Boxing Foundation's representative in Africa .
"Its unclear if the World Boxing Foundation will still continue with its operations," said Goldberg yesterday. "We invite Mick to join us but we have still to hear from him."
Goldberg said the new World Boxing Federation invited World Boxing Foundation's champions to move over to the new body.
"They were declared champions and they will get new belts with new logos," he said.
Lubabalo Msuthu from Eastern Cape holds the World Boxing Foundation's bantamweight belt.
