Military burial for 2 soldiers

TWO soldiers who died during parachute training at Tempe base in Bloemfontein will be given a military burial.

According to head of the 44 Parachute Regiment Colonel Andile Mohatu, the parachutes riflemen John Mpshe, 23, and Thabang Mokoena, 22, were using malfunctioned.

"We cannot at this stage place the blame on anybody. The investigation will help us to get at the bottom of the matter," Mohatu said.

Mpshe and Mokoena died on Thursday while they were undergoing static line parachute training.

Mpshe was from Brits in North West and Mokoena from Wepener in Free State. They were part of the military skills development systems intake who started training in January .
