THE police have appealed to members of the public to help them search for a man believed to be behind a spate of business robberies in the city centre.

The wanted man, identified as David "Deza" Makwela, 30, is believed to be hiding somewhere in Seshego, Westenburg and Lebowakgomo outside Polokwane, and Soshanguve outside Pretoria.

Polokwane police spokesperson Inspector Lesiba Ramoshaba, said the man had been terrorising businesses in and around the city.

"Many of the robberies Makwela committed were with aggravating circumstances," said Ramoshaba.

"We have at least managed to secure Makwela's identity and hope that people will be able to recognise him and assist us with information leading to his arrest," he said.

Ramoshaba further appealed to people not to confront Makwela but to inform the nearest police station.

Anyone with information can contact Captain Mabaso on 082-565-6502.
