MANY kids dream of making it onto their favourite TV shows but few actually make the leap on to our screens.

MANY kids dream of making it onto their favourite TV shows but few actually make the leap on to our screens.

Darren Struwig is one of the lucky few to have succeeded.

He has been presenting on K-TV for two years.

"I almost didn't get the job because the cut-off age was 16 and I turned 17 a few days after the auditions.

"Those two years with K-TV have flown by. You never work a day in your life if you are doing something you like."

Darren has been in the spotlight from primary school. He was in school plays from the first grade. Having just matriculated from Edenvale High School, his sights are on creating his own shows, "a show like Top Billing but for teenagers and young adults.

"Except having to wake up at 5.30am I enjoy doing live TV. I enjoy the danger aspect and we make less mistakes live. A good presenter should know how to roll with the punches."

For now Darren is content to present cartoons. "I'm a Sponge Bob Square Pants freak."

He is a fan of yoghurt drinks, with strawberry being his favourite flavour.

"My brother did promotions for Yogi Sip a few years ago. I drank many of the bottles he brought home."

He first tried the Moovit Strawberry Flavoured Nutritional Drink. "This is the only one that doesn't have strawberries on the package."

Next he tries Yogi Sip Strawberry Drinking Yoghurt. "This one is creamy, sweet and filling."

The third one to be tested is Fabulite Strawberry Drinking Yoghurt. "It tastes exactly like yoghurt but it's not thick at all."

The last is Bonitas' Yogo Fun. "This doesn't taste like yoghurt. It's not thick and not very filling." - Keitumetse Segoai
