DEPUTY Minister of Transport Jeremy Cronin is investigating allegations that Julius Malema called on politicians to intervene after traffic officers stopped him for speeding.

Last weekend, Malema reportedly argued with traffic officers who had stopped him in his Range Rover in Seshego, Limpopo.

Cronin told the National Assembly yesterday that his department "is looking into the matter".

"Nobody is above the law," Cronin said.

"We want to assure traffic officers that they enjoy our support and must conduct their work without fear or favour," Cronin said. - Anna Majavu
