DIKELEDI Kimbie had a love affair behind her husband's back and her lover moved in immediately after the two killed him.

Her brother Tebogo Mokoena told the Vereeniging high court yesterday that his sister's lover, Nehemia Sithole, had confessed to the killing and the affair.

Sithole is serving a life sentence after confessing and pleading guilty to Zongezile Kimbie's murder.

Mokoena said the two were lovers long before Zongezile was killed by Sithole.

Kimbie was stabbed many times in his yard in Sebokeng on March 2 2006.

He had just returned from work when Sithole pounced on him with a knife, allegedly provided by Dikeledi.

Sithole had earlier said that he and Dikeledi had arranged to kill Kimbie so that they could live together.

"I first met Sithole when he came to visit Dikeledi. He later visited regularly until he moved into the house after Kimbie's death," Mokoena said.

He said on the night Kimbie was stabbed he was woken by his screams for help.

"I was asleep when I heard him crying for help. I went outside and found him lying in a pool of blood. I jumped over the wall to look for his assailants but could not find them."

Mokoena said he then arranged with a neighbour to take Kimbie to hospital, where he later died.

The trial continues.
