All-time hit show back on the stage

IT'S possible that you thought the only thing Durban had going for it was the beach.

IT'S possible that you thought the only thing Durban had going for it was the beach.

But the Playhouse Company will prove that there is much more to enjoy when they stage the classic musical My Fair Lady.

Brimfull of stars, it is hoped that the musical will draw large numbers of theatre lovers to the Playhouse this festive season.

One of the world's all-time hit shows, the much-loved musical has been captivatingly directed by Ralph Lawson, who also stars as Henry Higgins

This classic rags-to-riches tale also stars Lisa Bobbert (Abbamaniacs, My Fair Lady, Little Shop of Horrors) and Gina Shmukler (Chess, Unforgettable, ShowBoat) alternating in the lead role as Eliza Doolittle.

With spectacular new set designs by Andrew Botha and Stan Knight, choreography by Mark Hawkins, costumes by Neil Stuart-Harris and a stellar cast performing to the accompaniment of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, this is big-stage family entertainment not to be missed.

Themi Venturas, Alfred Doolittle, Frank Graham and Cobus Venter return to their roles as Colonel Pickering and Freddie Eynsford-Hill respectively.
