BLOEMFONTEIN Celtic collected full points after beating Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-0 in a closely contested Absa Premiership match at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium yesterday.

The goals were scored by Cecil Oerson and Prince Olomu.

Celtic started on a high and were cautious not to make costly mistakes.

Oersen was wasteful as he directed his header wide in the fifth minute after receiving a neat cross from roving striker Tlou Segolela.

Aces were always a threat with their fierce pace and in the 18th minute Nkosinathi Ogle squandered a quality chance to give the visitors the lead.

He fired straight at Celtic goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb after beating defenders.

On the half-hour mark Segolela came close but was denied by agile Aces goalkeeper Thomas Richter.

Later on Aces' veteran Jacob Machaka had his long-range effort parried over the bar.

The two sides huffed and puffed until the interval.

They raised their game in the second half when Celtic capitalised on Aces' inability of to score.

Oerson broke Aces' resistance when he scored in the 75th minute, beating Richter in the bottom right corner with a fierce shot from outside the arch.

This followed a neat move involving Olomu and Mkhanyiseli Siwahla, who had replaced Moses Spandeel.

The goal spurred the home side on and Olomu killed the game off when he scored in the 89th minute after receiving a long pass from Thabo Nthethe.

This was Celtic's second home win with the first a 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs.
