We said it last month: Mzukisi Marali should not be allowed to fight until December.
Marali was stopped in nine rounds by Ji Hoon Kim last month. According to the rules, a boxer is automatically suspended for 60 days after suffering a knockout defeat.
Instead, Marali suffered a fourth round knockout by Mlungisi Dlamini on Saturday.
We raised the red flag when the fight was mooted. We are still astounded that Stofile and Boxing SA chairperson did nothing to halt this second hammering.
It is time boxing stakeholders saved the sport and offered some semblance of integrity.
