FOR a side with a renowned goal-scoring pedigree Mamelodi Sundowns have been struggling to anchor themselves at the top of the Absa Premiership table.

Dropping from No 3 to No 8 means they have to be wary of getting left behind in the title chase.

Their midweek defeat to Platinum Stars was only a temporary setback, said Downs spokesperson Alex Shakoane, as they prepare to host Jomo Cosmos at Super Stadium on Sunday at 3.30pm.

"Our loss to Stars was more a lesson to show players they have not arrived yet."

Explaining why the likes of Felix Katongo, Mabhuti Khenyeza and Papi Zothwane sat out the Stars match, Shakoane said there were no "special players" at Downs.
