The meeting is a last-ditch effort to end the taxi violence that has ravaged the northern Zululand route.
The violence in the area has claimed 25 lives since 2007.
The meeting, called by MEC for transport, community safety and liaison Willies Mchunu, comes amid ongoing talks with stakeholders.
"After due consultation with relevant stakeholders, we are working on developing a package of interventions so as to bring an end to taxi violence in Nongoma," Mchunu said.
"The purpose of the meeting is to solicit views as to how to bring an end to the ongoing senseless killing spree," he added.
Mchunu said the taxi industry was an important pillar of the region's integrated transport system and the single largesttransporter of the poorest of the poor.
"We want this industry to thrive, but it won't thrive while the law of the jungle is the order of business."
KwaZulu-Natal Transport Alliance has welcomed the meeting.
"We welcome the interventions by the MEC. The taxi industry is a business and conflicts in the business can only be settled through round-table talks," said KZNTA, president Gerald Ferror.
