MALAIKA, the sensational Afro-pop outfit, is throwing the mother of all parties at the Blues Room in Sandton tonight.

The group is a must-have performer at any concert or festival.

Starting at 7pm, the party will go on until the wee hours of the morning.

Malaika, who are excited about their impending trip to the UK, intend to give their guests a sample of a repertoire they will sail through to impress their fans.

"We feel like celebrating our good fortune. London seems to love us, hence the numerous invitations to perform there. We also love the fact that with each visit, our audience seems to grow by leaps and bounds," says a chuffed Tshedi Mholo.

Echoing the excitement of her colleague, Bongani Nchang adds: " We are grateful for the growing number of fans and shows in London. However, our fervent prayer is that we increase attention on the continent. After all, charity begins at home."

The duo's first performance is at Leicester on November 20. This will be followed by an additional show in Stratford on November 21.

"It will be good to share the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi at Stratford," says Mholo.

"There is no doubt that our audiences are in for a great time. The combination of our home-grown sounds, should cast a spell on them.

"The ultimate is always seeing them dance and sing along and that is a privilege - especially for a place that is so far away from home."
