AJAX Cape Town redeemed themselves when they beat Moroka Swallows 2-0 in an Absa Premiership at Newlands Stadium last night.

Ajax were still smarting from a 6-0 drubbing by Lamontville Golden Arrows in the MTN final at Orlando Stadium last weekend.

As they trotted onto the field yesterday, they had one thing in their minds - win against Swallows at all costs in preparation for their game against Arrows on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Ajax took the lead through a penalty converted by Dispsey Selolwane in the 57th minute. Sameehg Doutie was brought down in the box by Ramaswe Mphahlele.

Ajax sealed the game in the 90th minute through an own goal by Swallows defender Gordon Gilbert in an attempt to clear Franklin Cale's cross.
