AWARD-WINNING gospel singer Shirley Caesar is coming to South Africa to woo locals with her stunning music next month.

AWARD-WINNING gospel singer Shirley Caesar is coming to South Africa to woo locals with her stunning music next month.

Caesar, pictured, who has over 40 years of experience in music, will be in South Africa from November 27 to 29. She will share the stage with Zodwa Twecu, Deborah Fraser, Keke, Sipho Makhabane, Hlengiwe, Benjamin Dube and Solly Mahlangu.

She starts her tour in Durban's International Conference Centre on November 27 with Fraser and Hlengiwe.

On November 28, she will be at Nelspruit Rugby Stadium in Mpumalanga with Makhabane, the Church on The Hill Choir, Themba Mdluli, Goodman Mgibe, Dube and Mahlangu.

She ends the tour on December 29 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg where she will be accompanied by Twecu, Keke and Redeemed.

Since leaving the Caravans, Caesar has been travelling the US and the world, delivering her Christian messages in electrifying songs and sermons.

In the process, she has won 11 Grammy Awards, 18 Dove Awards, 14 Stellar Awards and numerous others.

Born in Durham, North Carolina, she was inspired by her father, Big Jim Caesar, also a singer .

She left the Caravans in 1966, signed up with Hob Records and then began her solo career in earnest.
