Habana could be fit for cup final

BLUE Bulls star Bryan Habana yesterday rejoined his teammates, who are training for the Absa Currie Cup final against the Cheetahs at Loftus on Saturday.

BLUE Bulls star Bryan Habana yesterday rejoined his teammates, who are training for the Absa Currie Cup final against the Cheetahs at Loftus on Saturday.

The speedy winger has been out of action for two weeks after injuring his hamstring in their nail-biting semifinal against Western Province at Newlands a fortnight ago.

Org Strauss, the team's doctor, is optimistic that the try-scoring machine will be fit to play against the Cheetahs on Saturday.

"He is making steady progress and at this stage there is a good possibility that he will recover in time for the Absa Currie Cup final," Strauss said.

Springbok wing Habana will be playing for the last time for the Super 14 champions Bulls before joining Western Province next month.

The Bulls were back in training yesterday after being given a short rest last week after their taxing game against Province.

Hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle, who is still nursing a stress fracture, is doubtful for the final.
