TRANSPORT Minister Sbu Ndebele says the National Driver of the Year Competition can help reduce the road carnage.

TRANSPORT Minister Sbu Ndebele says the National Driver of the Year Competition can help reduce the road carnage.

He was speaking at the finals of the annual competition at the Bolivia Lodge near Polokwane at the weekend.

Ndebele said the competition was aimed at reducing and preventing accidents involving heavy duty vehicles and educating professional drivers .

"We are calling on traffic officers to work within the parameters of their work and avoid taking bribes from road users," Ndebele said. - Elijar Mushiana
