Amakhosi will host the newly crowned MTN 8 champions at Orlando Stadium tomorrow night.
Tau's statement is bold considering that Abafana Bes'thende ran riot against Ajax Cape Town in the final, thrashing them 6-0 to win the R8million prize on Saturday.
Coincidentally, that game took place at the same venue as the Chiefs-Arrows clash.
"I would like to congratulate them on winning the cup. It was quite an achievement for them but I wouldn't say they scare us," Tau says.
"The six goals they scored made us aware that we are playing a quality side. It will certainly be an interesting game and it gives us an opportunity to regroup as a team and get the three points."
Tau says they are well aware of the danger posed by Arrows but insists that Amakhosi are not perturbed.
Tau is not playing at the moment. He went under the knife to sort out his niggling knee.
"It's not about me because the club comes first and is bigger than all of us," he reasoned.
Chiefs' only league win at Orlando Stadium was against Arrows last season.
But Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi warned that that was last season.
"This will be a different game altogether and we will approach it differently," Mngqithi said. "Chiefs have always been dangerous and considering that they are yet to register their first home win, it makes them even more dangerous.
"We don't know what to expect from them.
"I felt that some of the referee's decisions were against us but that is how football is.
"We will go out and fight for maximum points."
Kickoff is at 7.30pm.
