BAFANA Bafana's development side advanced to the semifinal of the Cosafa Cup tournament in Zimbabwe by beating Angola 2-0 yesterday.

Known as Amabinneplaas - loosely translated as "locally based" - the side will now play the winner of the tie between Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Goals for the team under the tutelage of coaches Simon Ngomane and Khabo Zondo were scored in the second half by Lennox Bacela and Oupa Manyisa.

Bacela, who has hardly seen action at Orlando Pirates, scored first in the 67th minutes from a goalmouth scramble and his teammate at Pirates, Manyisa, put the final nail in Angola's coffin with a brilliant solo effort in the 80th minute.

Bacela proved to be South Africa's most attacking player. - Sapa
