THREE men found in possession of stolen items are expected to appear in court this week.

The suspects were arrested by police on routine patrol near the Renishaw railway station.

Police spokesperson Captain Vincent Pandarum said their members observed three men sitting on the stairs at the subway of the railway station.

"The men acted suspiciously when the police officials approached them - and when police searched their bags they found clothing, a music system, computer equipment, a hairdryer, a video camera, foreign currency and cash."

Meanwhile, the Scott-burgh SAPS had received a report of a house in Palm Road, Freeland Park, that had been burgled and a case of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft had been opened.

Police say the recovered property was stolen from those premises.

"The burglars had broken a large sliding glass window and entered the house while the owners were at work.

"Detectives questioned the suspects and learnt that a fourth suspect had also been involved in the burglary," Pandarum said.

Two sets of car keys and more clothing were recovered from an address in Amandawe.

The complainant identified these as part of the property that was also stolen.

The three suspects taken into police custody will appear in the Scottburgh magistrate's court later this week.
