Man arrested for diamonds

A MAN was arrested for possession of diamonds valued at R1 million and a gram of cocaine in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said yesterday.

A MAN was arrested for possession of diamonds valued at R1 million and a gram of cocaine in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said yesterday.

"Members arrested a 29-year-old man found in possession of cut and uncut diamonds believed to be valued in excess of R1 million," Inspector Joey Jeevan said.

The man was allegedly looking for a buyer when he was arrested on Saturday. He will appear in a Pietermaritzburg court soon to face charges of illegal possession of uncut diamonds and cocaine. - Sapa
