Despite Safa announcing that their national executive committee would meet in Joburg today with the objective of discussing the report from the technical assessors - Jomo Sono, Gavin Hunt and Clive Barker - a more likely scenario is that Safa will unveil Santana's successor.

The strongest contender for the job looks to be Carlos Alberto Parreira, with Safa president Kirsten Nematandani and his deputy Mandla "Shoes" Mazibuko in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to make Parreira a formal offer.

But one of Safa's other vice-presidents, Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana, said Pitso Mosimane and Jairo Leal are still in the running.
