Heading the field is world number seven and defending champion Henrik Stenson of Sweden.
After winning by a staggering eight shots last year, Stenson will be looking for a back-to-back victory to add to his four top 10 finishes for the year and earnings of just over $3million (R22,2million) for this year.
Argentinian Angel Cabrera will also want to end the year on a high. Winning his second major after a sensational three-man playoff at this year's US Open, Cabrera proved once again he's a player for the big occasion and the layout of the Gary Player Country Club should suit his long-hitting game.
Nipping at their heels will be the South African trio of Retief Goosen, Richard Sterne and Tim Clark. Goosen, who has slipped to number 19 in the world rankings, last won a tournament in March when he captured the Transitions Championship at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Tampa Bay, Florida.
"The Goose" is always in contention at the Nedbank event and will be looking to recapture the form that won him two US Opens.
Making up the rest of the field are Irishman Rory McIlroy, Swede Robert Karlsson, the US's Hunter Mahan and Nick Watney, England's Luke Donald and Ross Fisher and Australia's Robert Aleenby.
The tournament tees off on December 3.
