BOLAND head coach Chester Williams is optimistic that his team will retain their Absa Currie Cup status when they host the Pumas in the relegation and promotion playoffs game in Wellington tomorrow at 3.30pm.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's game, Williams said his charges are well prepared, focused and raring to start the playoffs assignment with positive results.

"My boys look positive and in good shape after this week's successful rigour training," he said.

"They have promised to go all out to overcome their first hurdle, the Pumas, and make things easy for their return match against their counterparts in Witbank next Saturday."

The former Springbok winger has made few changes to tomorrow's squad, with Hayden Groepes replacing Justin Peach at fullback.

Flank Carel Hoffman returns to the starting XV after a full recovery and will partner Hilton Lobberts and Zandre Jordaan in the back row.

In the second playoffs match, the Leopards face South Western Districts in Potchefstroom, also on Saturday at 5.30pm.
