40 matrics become ill

ABOUT 40 matric candidates taking catch-up classes in Limpopo were treated for suspected food poisoning yesterday.

ABOUT 40 matric candidates taking catch-up classes in Limpopo were treated for suspected food poisoning yesterday.

Ambulances ferried the pupils from Makhado's multi-purpose centre in Dzanani to the Makhado Health Centre for treatment.

Three of them were sent to Siloam Hospital because their condition was said to be serious.

The affected pupils, from Moutse, formed part of more than 570 pupils attending catch-up classes because they fell behind in their studies following protests against the area's "incorporation" into Limpopo.
