This plea, from businesswoman and mentor Sisi Dlamini, came during a powerful women empowerment session held in Johannesburg recently.
Under the title Who's Your Daddy, Dlamini said most women made the common mistake of "looking" for their absent fathers in the men in their lives.
She said women who grew up without a father figure were usually the ones whose relationships were characterised by insecurities and lack of self-love.
On finding a good man, Dlamini advised women to ask questions like: "Is he kind? Does he have a relationship with God? Does he offer godly advice? Does he forgive things from the past?"
Other issues discussed included financial guidance, how to look attractive after age 30 and the importance of taking "me time".
Lesego Godana and Nosipho Ndamase, the organisers of the session, said apart from providing women with a platform to network and share wisdom, they also want to empower and inspire women to live effective and meaningful lives daily.
