TEENstar Junior Mafia has vowed that he will never allow fame to go to his head.

TEENstar Junior Mafia has vowed that he will never allow fame to go to his head.

Born Thabang Motholo in Mapetla in Soweto, the kwaito musician says he wants to be a role model for the youth. The Grade 11 pupil at Mndeni Senior Secondary School in Soweto says education is his priority.

His latest album, Back To School, urges youts to take education seriously.

"I tell young people to go to school. I wrote Back To School because I see guys leave school and get involved in wrong things and girls having babies instead of focusing on education," he says.

He has worked with Lesego, Brown Dash, Msyfo and Sgonondo in his second release .

"This time I worked with experienced people. This album is more mature than the previous one," Motholo says.

What makes his album special is that he balances his lyrics with the social, political and funky township beats.

He says he wants to study mechanical and sound engineering when he leaves school.

"I will use the money I make from my music to further my education. Music as a career is not something you can depend on."
