A 17-YEAR-OLD boy who allegedly raped an 11-year-old girl and then gave her R1 not to tell will appear in the KwaMsane magistrate's court today.
The incident allegedly happened at Nkolokotho, outside Mtubatuba in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Captain Jabulani Mdletshe said the incident allegedly happened last Friday but was only reported to the police on Monday.
"The girl was coming from school when the 17-year-old boy allegedly came out of the bush and raped her. When he finished raping her, he gave her R1 and told her not to report him," he said.
Meanwhile, a three-year-old girl is in a serious condition in hospital after being found floating face down in a swimming pool in Durban yesterday morning,
Netcare 911's Jeff Wicks said: "She's lucky to be alive because of the actions of those who found her."
