A SOSHANGUVE woman arrested for the murder of her 22-year-old son two weeks ago was released in time to attend his funeral yesterday.

Koketso Setlhake was hacked to death with an axe while sleeping in his bedroom, allegedly by three balaclava-clad men.

His mother, Thoko Setlhake, 42, was arrested for the murder the following day.

Inspector Patrick Zimu said Setlhake implicated Bosplaas traditional healer Lucas Chuma, 64.

Zimu said the duo briefly appeared in the Pretoria North magistrate's court on Friday, where the charges were provisionally withdrawn due to lack of evidence.
