Yesterday marked the beginning of National Obesity Week.

The week has presented an opportunity for Durban's Sinenhlanhla Shabalala, who has no problem about being huge. She has always lived a healthy life despite her size.

She and other big ladies will be featured in the 2010 calendar showcasing their bodies.

About 29percent of men and 56percent of women in South Africa are overweight and obese, including 17percent of children of one - 9 years.

The initiative is aimed at creating awareness about obesity in the country and the impact it has on everyone.

The calendar is a project of three Durban-based full-figured women running a company - 360 Degrees.

The group is exclusively for the overweight and its main aim is to give confidence to other overweight women.

Shabalala, an administration worker, who wears a size 52 can't wait to pose nude.
