GOVERNMENT distributed 450million free condoms last year and is set to issue another 450million by next July.

This was revealed yesterday by Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi in a written response to a question in Parliament.

The contract, which will cost R103million, began in July last year. Six companies were contracted to procure the condoms, but only one - Med-E SA - is buying them locally. - Ann Majavu
