A SCHOOLBOY was arrested for allegedly stabbing another pupil in the back at a high school in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said yesterday.

A SCHOOLBOY was arrested for allegedly stabbing another pupil in the back at a high school in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said yesterday.

"On Tuesday police were informed that a Grade 11 pupil was stabbed by a Grade 12 pupil at Woodlands Secondary School," Senior Superintendent Henry Budhram said.

The knife victim, Krishen Govender, reportedly saw his 18-year-old assailant talking to his sister and an argument ensued.

The pupil is expected to appear in court soon on a charge of attempted murder. - Sapa
