The accident happened on Saturday on the road between Burgersdorp and Mafarane in the Letsitele area.
The deceased are Dennies Masheles, Siphiwe Shamango, Masilo Shitlhelana, Erick Nonkie Maluleke and seven-year-old Tebogo Ramoshaba.
When a Sowetan team visited the area the spokesperson for the bereaved families, Donald Maluleke, said a mass funeral would be held on Sunday.
"With the 2010 World Cup coming. the deceased players were waiting to see their favourite stars in action," he said sadly.
