THE big gig this week for music lovers who enjoy their R&B is certainly the John Legend concert at the Coca-Cola Dome on Sunday.

But while the main focus is on Legend, local musician Bantu Soul, who is increasingly making a name for himself in this genre, will also share the limelight.

He has been chosen as supporting act for this visiting legend of R&B music.

Soul will also share the limelight with special guest Keri Hilson at all three performances this month, which began at the Grand Arena, Grandwest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town yesterday, and continues at the Indoor Arena at International Convention Centre in Durban tomorrow before coming to the Coca-Cola Dome.

Legend's famous voice has captured millions of fans around the world since his debut album, Get Lifted was released in 2004.

A critical and commercial triumph, Get Lifted earned Legend an astounding eight Grammy nominations - Best New Artist, Best Male R&B Vocal Performance ("Ordinary People") and Best R&B album - while selling more than three million copies worldwide.

Before the success of his debut album Legend's career was elevated through a series of collaborations with established artists, among them some of the best in the business, including Jay Z, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill and Kanye West.
