Bully threat to matric exams

WITH 12 days to go before the start of matric exams, classes at a high school in Melmoth on KwaZulu-Natal's north coast have been disrupted.

WITH 12 days to go before the start of matric exams, classes at a high school in Melmoth on KwaZulu-Natal's north coast have been disrupted.

The disruption at Stheku High School was allegedly caused by two former pupils who stormed the school on Monday.

Armed with knives, they allegedly threatened female teachers and pupils.

After the incident, scared teachers downed tools and the school was closed for the day.

Principal Percival Biyela yesterday confirmed the disruption of classes.

Captain Tinkie van Vuuren said: "There was an incident of that nature at the school, but no case was opened.

"Police will, however, monitor the situation very closely."
