Stars have fun day with fans

FANS shook hands, hugged and obtained autographs from stars including Isidingo's Meshack Mavuso and Tshepo Maseko, Generations' Thami Mngqolo and Siphiwe Mtshali and Home Affairs' Thami Africa at the inaugural North West Family Fun Day at Mmabatho Stadium in Mafikeng on Saturday.

The stars later took part in several celebrity soccer displays. Other fun-filled events included fun runs and walks, jumping castles for children and picnics for families.

Conceived by Moses Banyatsi of Mob Unlimited Productions, the family fun day is the latest addition to the Sowetan and Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation's youth and community development activities portfolio.

Sowetan's nation building or corporate social investments and responsibility work thrives on solid partnerships such as this one.

Fellow sponsors and organisers of the event include Pick n Pay, Baden Mafikeng, Nkwe Stationers and Office Suppliers, Jetline Mmabatho and Tholo Granite Works.

The celebrity contingent comes from the cast and crew of different TV soapies and series.

Generations, Home Affairs, Isidingo and e.tv's Rhythm City's stars might be thinking of moving to North West after their fans showered them with love in Mmabatho at the weekend, writes Victor Mecoamere.
