GRIQUAS skipper Jonathan Mokuena has described his move to the Golden Lions Rugby Union as a huge challenge in his rugby career.

The former SA Sevens captain has signed a two-year contract with the Johannesburg outfit.

"It is a great pleasure to join one of the biggest unions in the country who boast good players," he said. "I will take this opportunity with both hands and promise to work hard and impress the technical staff for a regular place in the team."

Mokuena is expected to join his new teammates next month in preparation for the Vodacom Super 14 campaign.

Marius Delport of the Blue Bulls has also signed a two-year contract with the Lions, where he will be joined by Bulls flyhalf Burton Francis and wing Tonderai Chavhanga from Western Province.

United States flank Todd Clever has extended his Lions contract until 2012.
