The former Joyous Celebration member has joined multi-award winning playwright John Kani in his musical show the Lion and the Lamb.

The show opens for a season at the Market Theatre on October 20 and runs until December.

Dlamini, who is known for her vocal ability, has been joined by equally talented Margaret Motsage. Both musicians are gifted with voices that effortlessly and beautifully handles jazz, Afro-Jazz, traditional music, soul and gospel.

Dlamini says she cannot wait for opening night when they will dazzle theatre lovers.

"I have done the show before and I am happy to be back. Working with talented singer Margaret Motsage will take the show to another level. Our voices blend well."

She says working with Kani is an honour.

"Kani is is the best in this game and no one can dispute that. Working with him teaches you things you did not know before. For all of us, it is a learning phase."

The musical is about the birth, death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The story is based on the Bible but also incorporates vibrant music from a variety of sources, including mainstream gospel and Afro-American spirituals.

The hugely successful musical was originally created by Barney Simon and Kani.

It has received much critical acclaim over the years.
