The 13-year-old girl was dressed in a black suit, high-heeled shoes and sunglasses and carried a briefcase.
Nonkululeko was among 300 Grade 7 pupils from 10 primary schools who attended the annual National Career Dress Up Day at the East Rand School of Arts in Ekurhuleni yesterday.
And for her troubles she was voted the best pupil, confirming to the youngster that her ambition of becoming an entrepreneur was not misplaced.
Judges were so impressed by her essay and her presentation that they awarded her the first prize for being able to articulate why she wanted to be an entrepreneur.
Pupils were required to write a 150-word essay describing their future career choices as well as the subjects necessary to gain access into various professional fields.
Each winner received R1000 in cash towards their educational requirements
"With the National Career Dress Up Day, we hope to encourage pupils to be inspired to study for a purpose, and we believe that the starting point for that mindset should be at primary school level," said East Rand Children's Fund and Youth Trust chairperson Monde Tabata.
