The Oscar-winning actor is in negotiations to star alongside the rapper-turned-actor in the modern-day adaptation of the 1886 novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Forest is hopeful he can come to an agreement with movie bosses and get involved with the "interesting" script.
Whitaker told MTV News: "We're still figuring out what we're going to do, if I am going to be doing that or not. If I end up doing it, I would be playing Jekyll and he would be playing Hyde.
"It's a father-son kind of relationship. It's also an interesting script because we are dealing with similar things. Jekyll has a lot of issues and problems personally. Hidden passions, hidden perversions - and it is acted out by 50." - Bang
