Native Blues on

FACA Kulu's entertaining musical comedy Native Blues has has started its run in the Playhouse Drama Theatre in Durban.

The accapella is embedded in the melodies and harmonies conceived on the reminiscences of two old men who are former members of the group that founded the music that was popular in the 1950s.

The comedy unfolds in a series of flashbacks in which the two men are joined by other group members who help to narrate the story providing out of this world harmony.

The play is set to tell the story of the informal settlement of Mkhumbane, now Cato Manor.

The group of six, back in the old days, became trendy with gatherings that were happening mostly on the outskirts of Durban.

Sadly, their music only got credit from the street corners, shebeens and beer halls of Durban's legendary Mkhumbane.

The musical will run until tomorrow. Booking through Computicket.
